The one-sentence version
Bitget made copy trading a feature of its exchange: keep funds there, pick a lead trader, mirror. CopyFi is not an exchange at all — it is the rules layer that decides what a copied signal is allowed to do inside the account you already have.
| CopyFi | Bitget | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A rules layer over copy trading | Copy trading built into a crypto exchange |
| Where your money sits | Your own exchange account — Phemex today, more venues planned | On the Bitget exchange |
| How copying works | Signals pass through rules you set before execution | Your account mirrors an elite trader on the platform |
| Your control over risk | Position size, leverage ceiling, stop conditions per model | Allocation and per-copy settings the platform exposes |
| Trader pool | The CopyFi trader database, filtered by your criteria | Bitget’s own community of lead traders |
| Venue | Phemex today, with more planned | Bitget only |
| Setup | Build your rules once, from visual blocks | Press follow — minutes |
| If you leave | Revoke one API key; funds never moved | Withdraw funds from the exchange |
What Bitget does well
It is one of the largest copy-trading communities in crypto, and the integration is the point: the traders, the mirroring and your funds live in one venue, so starting takes minutes. Lead traders are ranked, their records are public on the platform, and the exchange handles execution end to end.
The trade you make for that speed
Everything happens inside one platform — the venue, the trader pool, and your funds. The copy itself is a mirror: the lead trader’s sizing and leverage become yours within the allocation you set. And because thousands of accounts mirror the same leads at the same moment, they move the price against themselves — the crowding problem described in what copy trading does not fix.
What CopyFi changes
CopyFi separates the three things Bitget bundles. The venue stays yours — whichever exchange or broker you connect by API key, with read and trade permissions only. The signal comes from traders you accept through filters. And execution passes through your rules first: position size, a leverage ceiling, stop conditions that halt everything. Assembled from visual blocks, no code — the strategy builder page shows exactly what those blocks control.
Where CopyFi is behind
Reach, and friction. Bitget has one of the largest copy-trading communities in crypto, more lead traders and deeper liquidity than we will have for a while, and nothing to connect — no API key, no second account. CopyFi executes on Phemex today, with other venues planned, so using it means holding your trading capital at Phemex rather than at Bitget. If your funds are already on Bitget, that is a real cost and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Choose Bitget if
- You already keep funds on Bitget and want copying in the same app.
- You want the fastest possible start, with the platform’s own trader rankings.
- One-to-one mirroring within an allocation is enough control for you.
Choose CopyFi if
- You want your funds to stay wherever they already are.
- You want your own risk rules applied before any copied order executes.
- You want the same rule set regardless of which venue you trade on.
Neither approach guarantees a profit. Trading involves risk, past performance does not guarantee future results, and CopyFi makes no investment recommendations.
